Photos on Bird@x

All photos on Bird@x are associated with recorded sightings. If you have a photo that you want to upload, first record the sighting with the relevant details, then use the button to upload as many photos as you like that relate to that sighting.

Each photo uploaded for the sighting will also be automatically catalogued against the relevant birder (you!), bird species and location (if specified).

If you are reading this then that probably means that no one has uploaded any photos yet for whichever birder, bird species, location or sighting you're looking at. Why not be the first!

Whenever you see a symbol like this 5 it shows you how many photos have been uploaded for the relevant item. Usually clicking on the symbol will take you to see the photos.

Comments on sightings are publicly visible. Only the sighting owner and their friends can comment on a sighting and reply to existing comments. The owner will be notified of any comments made.

Great spot Mike. I've never seen one. Amazing what you can see sometimes when you're not even looking!

Very very lucky, only seen it due getting a puncher (on my push bike) when visiting a Friend. Went out front of his house to bring bike in, then I was standing at the door looking across canal thinking of five mile hike home when seen a black and white bird fly low on to base of small tree on other side of canal could not believe what I thought it was so ran in right though Friends house to back kitchen to grab bins from my bag( friend saying have you seen eagle) straight back across road to railings to get good look did not find it straight away as it had moved then there it was, further up trunk on underside got to watch it for about 45 seconds a male bird no mistaking what it was then it few further up canal under bridge out of sight hope know one was watching my dance back across road to back in to my Friends did not mind my hike home then:-)

Well done on this one. I specifically tried for this bird a couple of years running, then finally this spring I had a good view of one drumming. I think they disperse quite long distances, and can pop up in strange places - you were in the right place at the right time and very lucky, I reckon.
